Looking for a way to start the holiday season for free? Come and enjoy the sounds of Christmas with the Hartford City Band at their concert on Sunday, November 27th at 2:30 pm. The concert will be held in the Ruth A. Knoll Theatre in the Schauer Arts Center, located at 147 N. Rural Street in Hartford. The band is celebrating 142 years of entertaining audiences and the enjoyment of playing their instruments. Currently the band has 2 new directors. The concert will feature selections that include “On an Olde English Carol”, “Adventum (O Come, O Come Emmanuel)”, “White Christmas” and “Nutcracker Suite-Dance of the Reed Pipes and Waltz of the Flowers” under the direction of Terri Kolinski. Other selections to be performed under the direction of Isaac Dae Young include “A Holst Christmas”, “Greensleeves”, “The Polar Express” and a “Christmas Spectacular”. The sounds of the season combined with the beautiful setting of the Schauer Arts Center will put you in the holiday spirit to last through the season. The band wishes everyone a very Merry Christmas along with a very prosperous New Year. The band is a resident tenant of the Schauer Arts Center.
