A Season of Legacies

Welcome to the 2024–25 Schauer Center performing arts season, “A Season of Legacies.” This season, we celebrate the legacy of Ruth Knoll, the Schauer Theater’s namesake, and the many artists who have performed and will perform in this theater.

Ruth Knoll was a fierce advocate of the arts in the Hartford community her whole life. Choir instructor at Hartford Union High School, founder and director of the Hartford Community Chorus, Choir Director at First United Methodist Church, and activist for the development of the Schauer Center theater, she touched countless lives and left each a little better off. In recognition of this, the local businesses that donated funds to complete the theater put it in her name when it opened in 2000. Ruth herself attended four hundred eighty-eight shows in the theater before leaving us in November 2023.

The legacy of Ruth Knoll is not just about the arts; it’s about a community that values and supports them. It’s about a space where all can gather to enjoy, be inspired by, and make connections through the arts. This season, we fill that space with some old favorites mixed with a variety of artists new to our theater. Together, we will enjoy music, theater, and dance performances. The arts will inspire us, cause us to dream a little bigger, and bring us together. Please join us in this legacy and share the gift of performing arts with your loved ones. See you soon!

Show dates are subject to change. Local performances will be determined as guidelines allow. Tickets are on sale to the general public July 15.

Group coordinators may purchase 20 or more tickets to a single event and receive 10% off each adult ticket. Contact the Box Office Manager at 262-670-0560, ext. 0 to make a group reservation.
