The Hartford Community Chorus presents:
“At the Stable”
During this time of the year, many of us “pilgrimage” to a festival. It is not a journey of the feet but one that steps out in faith. The festal destination of this pilgrimage is Christmas, and it is one of the heart. The pilgrimage embodies the Christmas prophecy: that of love and compassion, and that of peace on earth and goodwill toward all. As families gather for this festival, we often remember and share generational stories of those whom we love and whom we have loved who are no longer with us. Yet, there is another story that supersedes them all; it happened one night many years ago. It all began “At the Stable.” It was there in Bethlehem, where a heavenly transformation occurred. It was in Bethlehem where a manger became the Messiah, a crib, the Christ, and a sheltering stable housed the Savior. Since then, nothing has ever been the same. In response to this story, we are to “go and tell it on the mountain!”
