Ballet 1

Ages 9+

This beginning level class for ages 9 and older is an entry level to our ballet program. Students learn basic steps, technique, vocabulary, musicality, ballet etiquette, and classroom skills. Students gain an understanding of proper body placement through barre work, center work, and across the floor, including beginning adagio and allegro movements. Students will dance once a week for an hour and fifteen minutes. Students who fit the age range by September 1, 2025 may enroll.

Before the first day of your child's class, please complete and return the 2025-2026 Schauer School of the Arts waiver via email to the Education Director at classes@schauercenter.org. If this isn't convenient, you may bring a hard copy to the box office Monday through Friday, 12:00–5:00 pm or give the waiver form to the instructor on the first day of class. Blank waiver forms will be available for parents to fill out on the first day of class if needed.
