Placement Required
A one-hour class consisting contemporary technique. while exploring style and presentation. Contemporary combines technical components of ballet with the freedom and fluidity of jazz. This is an expressive style of dance that allows the dancer to interpret and express the emotions, lyrics and story associated with a piece of music. This class includes a proper warm-up, stretches, isolations and across-the-floor progressions. Placement required.

Before the first day of your child's class, please complete and return the 2025-2026 Schauer School of the Arts waiver via email to the Education Director at classes@schauercenter.org. If this isn't convenient, you may bring a hard copy to the box office Monday through Friday, 12:00–5:00 pm or give the waiver form to the instructor on the first day of class. Blank waiver forms will be available for parents to fill out on the first day of class if needed.
